The CBX Long Bike

Started with a 79' CBX pile-o-parts I assembled last summer from three laundy baskets and a cardboard box into this rat bike to the left of this writing here on the profile page. Time to scratch build it now and I've got a long low look in mind for the "gang of the six". See below. Found a boogered up prostreet style digger frame for an HD that never made it to the road, probably because of some issues that I have now resolved. 200mm tire on a sohc Honda hub in back and a 21" HD up front running a 120 with a 2001 Ironhorse Tejas front end. Gonna be just short of 10 feet tip to tip! Lots of fabrication, from fixing and welding unfinished portions of the frame to modifying for the CBX motor and sohc Honda rear hub to creating fenders from unfinished shells to fabricating my own gas tank, bars, seat, mounts, forward controls, unique integrated light and plate designs, sissy bar and all the little stuff no one sees but is needed to make it all happen. Doing a bit of custom work to the motor including adapting a modern alternator, oil cooler, simple wiring harness and modern controls. This bike will have more hand-made parts than most pro-built "customs". Gonna powder the frame but will do my own molding. I will also paint the tins, but with guidance from a friend because I am aiming for the best of quality in the final finish. Pin-striping by me!
I'm dedicating this build to all my fellow hondachopper.com friends. image

  1. Jealously & Envy

Ever met someone who is just plain bitter? I've met these doom and gloom types who can certainly be good fellows on the surface and in general. They disguise themselves as normal hard-working upstanding members of our community or even better, your friend. But they have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to their approach with people whom they feel are not suffering as much as they themselves are presently. These people have a way of making you feel guilty of your own success, at...

Been around the block a few times. Don't ask! Just finding some peace in the creative part of bike and car building. I do things a little different and like it that way. If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand! Ride it like you stole it.

I'm into Motorcycles and Rat Rods, what else! I like a fine bottle of wine and a great dinner, from bratwurst to foie gras! Its all good.
